  • Desk Setup- One of the most important parts of any home office is the desk setup. In particular, try to choose a desk and office chair that provide the ergonomic support that you need–you’re going to be using this workstation a great deal, so it’s best to make sure that doing so will not put unnecessary stress on your body. In addition, you’ll need a desk that gives you enough room to place your computer, phone, documents, writing utensils, and anything else that you use regularly in your work.
  • Office Chair- As we mentioned above, another key to a great home office is the right office chair. You’ll need a chair that’s comfortable enough to sit in for hours at a time, and one that gives your spine the support it needs to remain in a neutral position that won’t cause unnecessary pain.
  • Storage- In addition to the storage built into your desk, you’ll also need separate storage in the form of shelves or cabinets. These storage areas will allow you to keep track of any reference materials or extra supplies that you use in your work–while you may not need to check your files every day, when you have the right storage in your home office you can feel secure that they are waiting for you whenever you need them.
